TestMu AI adds Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra to its real device cloud
The testing company formerly known as LambdaTest says developers can now run live and automated tests on Samsung's two newest foldables, which unfold in opposite orientations.
Developers can now run tests on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra through a real device cloud, TestMu AI, the company formerly known as LambdaTest, said in an announcement reported Aug. 7, 2026.
Both handsets were unveiled at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event and run Android 17 based on One UI 9, according to the company. The Z Fold8 Ultra is the first Ultra model in the Z series. TestMu AI said the two devices share a name, chipset and operating system but differ in a way that matters directly to application layout: the Z Fold8 opens to a 7.6-inch display in portrait orientation, while the Z Fold8 Ultra opens to an 8.0-inch display in landscape.
That difference is the core of the company’s pitch. Because each foldable exposes two browser viewports — one on the cover display and one on the main display — the two Fold8 models together present four viewports that teams must account for, TestMu AI said. Its Samsung foldable inventory now spans four generations of hardware and three Android versions.
The company said the devices support both live and automated testing before retail units reach consumers, allowing teams to check fold-and-unfold configuration changes, multi-window behavior, cover-screen entry points, and camera, biometric and sensor behavior on the unfolded display. Automated testing is supported through standard Appium capabilities.
